Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival

Today I attended the Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival in Lunenburg (this town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

There were over 50 artists with their colourful and whimsical creations. I was able to convince three of my fabulous friends to go for their first time - they didn't need that much convincing really...and they even purchased some art!

It was so0o0o0o much fun and everyone there was delighted by the wonderful creations. I picked up two beautiful pieces - both birds of which I will add to my blog in the future.

If you ever have the opportunity to go - you must. It's an annual event that happens in August. You can check for times and directions by visiting www.nsfolkartfest.com.

I thought this wood carving of a man singing while sporting a mighty fine mullet was hilarious!!!! It was created by Bradford Naugler of Camperdown, NS - one of Nova Scotia's favourite folk artist.

Just wanted to let you know the man with the mullet is Bradford Naugler's carving of "Mick Jagger"!

Cheers,
